Physical interface-based classifiers

Physical interface-based classification enables you to assign all ingress traffic on a physical interface to a single forwarding class, regardless of the CoS bits in the packet header. The classifier maps every incoming packet on the designated interface to a fixed forwarding class and loss priority, which a scheduler then uses to control queuing and packet discard during congestion. You benefit from simplified traffic management at network edges, where all traffic from a specific device or link requires uniform service treatment.
