Software buffer configurability

You can configure the scheduler buffer size to control egress congestion and manage how queues handle bursty traffic. By allocating delay-buffer bandwidth, you absorb traffic bursts for a specified duration before packets are dropped, helping to protect critical traffic from loss. You can specify the buffer size as a percentage of the total available buffer, a temporal value in microseconds, or as the remaining buffer not assigned to other queues. The goal is to ensure queues transmit packets effectively during congestion periods while minimizing packet drops across forwarding classes.
