You can modify the aging timer for MAC table entries of a bridge domain. When the aging timer for a MAC address in a MAC table expires, the MAC address is removed from the table. This aging process ensures that the router tracks only active MAC addresses on the network and that it is able to flush out MAC addresses that are no longer available. The default aging timer for MAC entries is 300 seconds. Depending on how long you want to keep a MAC address in a MAC table before it expires, you can either increase or decrease the aging timer. To modify the aging timer for MAC entries in a MAC table, use the mac-table-aging-timer statement at one of the following hierarchy levels:
