You can exclude a trunk or access interface from the state calculation for a routed VLAN interface (RVI) for member VLANs. An RVI typically has multiple ports in a single VLAN. Excluding trunk and access interfaces from state calculations means that as that soon as the port specifically assigned to the VLAN goes down, the RVI for the VLAN is marked as down. Include the autostate-exclude statement at the [edit interfaces ether-options] hierarchy level.
