Graceful Restart: RSVP

Graceful restart allows forwarding of traffic to be unaffected during a control plane failure. It maintains the paths signaled by RSVP-TE so that traffic forwarding continues without disruption. A related function called graceful restart helper mode allows a node to assist other neighbors in the restart process. This feature is specific to RSVP-TE graceful restart at the ingress router.
