Statistics collection and reporting for Gigabit Ethernet interfaces

For Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, Packet Forwarding Engine statistics are disabled by default. To enable Gigabit Ethernet interface statistics, you must specifically configure them. To configure Gigabit Ethernet interface statistics, include the new statistics statement at the [edit interfaces interface-name unit logical-unit-number] hierarchy level. To display statistics, issue the show interfaces interface-name (brief-|-extensive) operational mode command.
