MAC address of an IRB interface

More Information:

MAC address of an IRB interface

Enables you to manually configure the MAC address of IRB interfaces on devices with MPC cards. This allows the configuration of two distinct MAC addresses for different VLANs, which facilitates the use of a transparent firewall and allows for the exchange of traffic between two VLANs on the same switch. In case of VPLS multihoming, this feature allows the configuration of the same MAC addresses for IRB interfaces in both the primary and secondary PE routers. This eliminates the need for changing the ARP binding of the IRB logical interface in CE routers in case of a failover.
