Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+)

Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) increases the amount of power that can be distributed to a PoE device to 30 W. PoE permits electric power, along with data, to be passed over a copper Ethernet LAN cable. Powered devices that support PoE--such as voice over IP (VoIP) telephones, wireless access points, video cameras, and point-of-sale devices--can receive power safely from the same access ports that are used to connect personal computers to the network.
