Asynchronous notification

The asynchronous-notification command s supported at the [edit interfaces interface-name sonet-options] hierarchy level. In a network comprising SONET and Ethernet interfaces connected through a TCC circuit, if an interface goes down, you can use the asynchronous-notification command to disable the physical interface on the remote end, thereby notifying the loss of signal (LOS) and loss of connection.
