LDP Ingress Policy

More Information:

LDP Ingress Policy

You can configure an LDP ingress policy for either inserting the entropy label (EL) for selected forwarding equivalence classes (FECs) or enabling Operation, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) for selected FECs. The insertion of entropy labels for a label-switched path (LSP) enables transit routers to load-balance MPLS traffic across ECMP paths or link aggregation groups (LAGs) using just the MPLS label stack as a hash input without having to rely on deep packet inspection (DPI). DPI requires more of the router's processing power and different routers have differing DPI capabilities. You can use the ingress-policy statement to select the FECs that require OAM to be enabled. If a FEC passes through the policy or if it is explicitly configured, then OAM is enabled for that FEC, with the Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) parameters configured for LDP.
