You use the MPLS label manager to manage different label types, such as LSI, dynamic, block, and static.
Historically, Juniper devices supported the label-space CLI statement to allocate different label spaces to different label types. To provide additional options, such as multiple ranges for each type of label, this feature enhances the MPLS label manager functionality by introducing the label-range CLI statement, which is independent of the label-space configuration. For compatibility with older software releases, label-space is retained, but its usage is not recommended.
The label-range configuration, in conjunction with enhanced-ip mode, introduces the following enhancements:
