RSVP-TE Class Based Forwarding(CBF)

More Information:

RSVP-TE Class Based Forwarding(CBF)

Class-of-service (CoS)-based forwarding (CBF) enables you to control RSVP-TE LSP selection based on a packet's class of service and, in particular, the value of the IP packet's precedence bits. For example, you might want to specify a particular RSVP-TE LSP to carry high-priority traffic while all best-effort traffic takes some other RSVP-TE LSP. When a routing protocol discovers equal-cost RSVP-TE LSPs, the device picks an LSP at random or balances the load across the LSPs through either hash selection or round-robin. CBF allows RSVP-TE LSP selection based on class.
