    IETF standard RFC 4878

    Junos OS supports IETF standard RFC 4878, Definitions and Managed Objects for Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) Functions on Ethernet-Like Interfaces. To enable generation of SNMP traps, dot3OamThresholdEvent and dot3OamNonThresholdEvent, you must configure the new dot3oam-events statement at the [edit snmp trap-groups <group-name> categories] hierarchy level.
