OSPF SR-TE Server Mapping Advertisements

More Information:

OSPF SR-TE Server Mapping Advertisements

In an LDP network with gradual deployment of segment routing, there can be islands of devices that support either only Label Distribution Protocol (LDP), or only SR. To enable interoperability between the LDP devices and SR devices, this feature introduces support for Segment Routing Mapping Server (SRMS). When the SRMS functionality is enabled on the router, the router uses OSPF extended prefix link-state advertisement (LSA) with range type, length, and value (TLV) to generate segment routing node-SID bindings for all LDP forwarding equivalence class (FEC) label bindings from the LDP network, for example, to advertise label bindings for all inet.3 LDP routes. These segment routing node-SID bindings are flooded across the OSPF domain and installed by segment routing-capable routers in the MPLS data plane exactly as if the node SIDs had been advertised by the nodes themselves, and not by SRMS.
