More Information:

Segment Routing (SR) Microloop avoidance for OSPF on link failure

Use this feature to defer OSPF route download and prevent microloops from forming when an OSPF link fails. When local links go down, the OSPF protocol floods an entire area with the database. If the node connected to the local interface that has failed converges faster than the neighboring node, then the connected node redirects traffic to the converged path. This redirection can result in microlooping of traffic until the neighboring node converges. When the primary path of a protected node fails, the connected node does not need to converge quickly if the configured backup path is not impacted. In this case, traffic flow toward a converged path is deferred until all other nodes are converged. This feature is supported for the following events: - Link-down event - Link-up event - Metric change event - Node down The following topologies are supported: - Multiple IS-IS instances - Flexible Algorithm (flex algo) topologies
