You can load and commit configurations into an ephemeral configuration database through an operation (op)script, thereby improving the performance of provisioning and deprovisioning of ESSM services. The total number of business services supported is increased to 100 business services per subscriber and 8000 business services per chassis.
Before you commit a configuration, you must validate the op script because committing an invalid configuration might result in unexpected behavior. The ephemeral configuration database is an alternate database that provides a configuration layer separate from both the static configuration database and the configuration layers of other client applications. The ephemeral commit model enables devices running Junos OS to simultaneously commit and merge changes from multiple clients and execute the commits with significantly greater throughput than when committing data to the static configuration database.
