MX Series Virtual Chassis support for targeted traffic distribution and redundancy mechanisms

More Information:

MX Series Virtual Chassis support for targeted traffic distribution and redundancy mechanisms

Junos OS extends support on IP demux and VLAN demux subscriber interfaces over aggregated Ethernet underlying interfaces to MX Series Virtual Chassis member routers for the following existing IEEE 802.3ad

link aggregation features:

This feature also introduces a new redundancy mechanism, chassis redundancy, for member routers in an MX Series Virtual Chassis. Chassis redundancy assigns the primary and backup links for the aggregated Ethernet bundle to MPC/MICs in different member routers. In a two-member MX Series Virtual Chassis, if the primary link is on an MPC/MIC in the primary router, the backup link is assigned to an MPC/MIC module in the backup router.

To configure chassis redundancy, issue the new logical-interface-chassis-redundancy statement at the [edit interfaces aenumber aggregated-ether-options] hierarchy level from the Virtual Chassis primary router.
