EVPN Type 2 and Type 5 routes can coexist in an EVPN-VXLAN fabric with a preference algorithm that results in more efficient traffic flow. If you enable Type 5 routes, the switch uses Type 2 routes by default for any destinations for which it has no Type 5 route. Otherwise, the switch gives preference to:
