The allow-fragmentation option enables fragmentation of the outer header (IPv4) after payload encapsulation. When you enable this option, the system fragments encapsulated packets whose size exceeds the maximum transmission unit (MTU) value of a link.
The UDP, GRE, and IP-IP encapsulation types support this feature.
