A logical interface that is configured to accept untagged packets is called an access interface or access port. By default, all interfaces are in access mode and accept only untagged packets from the default VLAN. You can use the interface-mode access statement to configure another VLAN and use that VLAN instead of the default VLAN. When an untagged packet is received on an access interface, the packet is accepted, the configured VLAN ID is added to the packet, and the packet is forwarded within the bridge domain that is configured with the matching VLAN ID.
