EVPN-VXLAN: Anycast multihoming for Type 2 symmetric IRB and BUM traffic

Use anycast multihoming with egress link protection (ELP) to achieve subsecond EVPN-VXLAN convergence for link and node failures with Type 2 symmetric IRB and Type 3 enhanced broadcast, unknown unicast, and multicast (BUM) traffic handling. This approach shifts load balancing to the underlay, reduces control-plane churn, and enables global repair. To configure anycast multihoming, use the following commands:

• set protocols evpn anycast-multihoming [mlag-interop-mode | router-mac | inet/inet6 address | loopback-interface]
• set forwarding-options evpn-vxlan reroute-address
• set interfaces aeX esi anycast
• (For BUM convergence) set interfaces aeX esi df-election-granularity per-esi

You can use Auto-ESI via Type 1 LACP. Constraints include no single home support and no Type 5 anycast support.
