Transmission of probes between a TWAMP client and a TWAMP server

More Information:

Transmission of probes between a TWAMP client and a TWAMP server

You can configure on router that contains a Packet Forwarding Engine with 16-port 10-Gigabit Ethernet MPCs, FPCs (MPCs), MPC3Es, or MPC4Es to function as a Two-Way Active Measurement Protocol (TWAMP) client. A TWAMP client is a device that sends probe or test packets and functions as the generator or initiator of the probes. A TWAMP server is a device that receives the probes from the client and functions as the reflector or the receiver. A client opens a TCP connection with the server on a well-known port, which is port number 862. The host that initiates the TCP connection takes the roles of the control-client and (in the two-host implementation) the session-sender. Such a device is also called the TWAMP client. The host that acknowledges the TCP connection accepts the roles of a server and (in the two-host implementation) the session-reflector. Such a device is also called the TWAMP server.
